Cherrywood P7
In 2022 GV8 was engaged by Quintain to assess the daylight sunlight levels associated with a proposed development in Cherrywood. The proposed development related principally to the delivery of 240 BTR units plus all associated amenities.
Conscious that the Department of Housing were in the process of withdrawing support for BTR type developments, the client was working within a very tight frame on this project. By coordinating closely with the design team GV8 was able to side step the lead times that often contribute to slow turnaround times.
Key Services Provided Included:
• 25 degree line testing to demonstrate no impacts possible for neighbouring properties
• Sun on Ground (SOG) testing to assess the loss of sunlight to neighbouring recreation spaces.
• Production of supplementary shadow casting imagery.
• Spatial Daylight Autonomy (sDA) testing of all accommodation within the proposed development
• Supplementary Average Daylight Factor (ADF) testing
• Sunlight access testing for all units within the proposed development
• Sun on Ground (SOG) testing of all proposed recreation spaces
Permission for this development is pending.
